Meet The Founder:
Hey There! I’m Jacob Cooper, founder of Stray Spirit.
I’m from St. Pete originally, but I’ve spent the past few years bouncing around the country, learning from mentors, and working on projects that helped shape my craft and my perspective. When I finally made my way back home, it felt like the right time to build something of my own.
These days, I specialize in commercial photography for small businesses, creatives, and people doing things a little differently. I’m drawn to clients who care deeply about their work and want photos that reflect that same level of passion.
Photography first came into my life at a young age through my grandfather, who briefly worked as a photographer for the Associated Press. He gave me my first film camera when I was a kid and I still have it. I took the long road into the industry: selling prints at sports photo tables for a school and sports studio, working my way up to become their director of photography, then stepping away to study under one of the top commercial photography duos in the country. Eventually, I launched Stray Spirit as a way to bring all of that experience together and build something on my own terms.
